The Korg Collection 2 (Formerly Known as the Korg Legacy Collection and then simply the Korg Collection) is a collection of VST instruments from Korg and was released in 2004 with updates and more Synths added over time.[1] The original 2004 release consists of the Korg MS-20, Korg Polysix and Korg Wavestation, and LegacyCell, a VST which layers combinations of any of the past 3 synths mentioned. In 2007, they added the Korg Mono/Poly, Korg M1, and Korg MDE-X Multi FX processor. On December 21, 2017, the ARP Odyssey was made into a VST and added to the collection, and the Korg Triton was added on for Christmas 2019. All of these synths were revamped in the spring of 2020 and renamed, collectively, the Korg Collection 2.

They use Korg's proprietary CMT (Component Modeling Technology) to emulate the original hardware. The Legacy collection is compatible with ASIORTAS VST[2] and stand alone so it can be used without a DAW. It is compatible with both the PC and Mac and the software was originally supplied on CD-ROM[3] but can now be downloaded via Korg's online store.

Korg Prophecy[edit]

Originally a Monophonic Physical Modelling/Virtual Analog Synth with a three-octave keybed released in 1995, The VST version allows the user to import Sysex of user-made Korg Prophecy presets, as well as enabling edits that allow up to 256-voice Polyphony.

Korg Triton Extreme[edit]

The culmination and Ultimate version of the Korg Triton, released in 2004, The VST version comes complete with a simulation of Valve Force technology, as the Triton Extreme used this same technology, to add Guitar Amp-like warmth to whichever patches are selected.

Invigorating analog, expansive digital

This collection precisely models the circuitry of historic analog synthesizers, fully emulating the depth and complexity of the miniKORG 700S, (KORG's first mass-produced analog synthesizer), the thick, persistent sound and flexible patching of the MS-20, the built-in effects of the six-note polyphonic Polysix, the thick, 4VCO monophony and unique polyphony of the Mono/Poly, and ARP's signature ARP Odyssey.
A vast array of digital synthesizers also await your command, including the M1, the iconic multi-functional workstation that revolutionized the music industry, the TRITON, a pillar of 2000s sound, the TRITON Extreme, the vacuum tube powered peak of the TRITON line, the WAVESTATION, which synthesizes and combines multiple waveforms for smooth tone changes and the Prophecy, a physical modeling synthesizer developed to explore brand new sonic worlds.
The KORG Collection is the embodiment of KORG's history; the ultimate showcase of the legendary sounds used on countless songs throughout the '70s, '80s, '90s, and '00s.
